Creative Spirit is still in its formative stages and, like all fledgling efforts, requires external support if it is to grow to self-sustainability. Please read below and watch our 8-minute YouTube Promo video to learn more!
Our External Launch Team, comprised of the pastors and members of the three other UCC churches in Austin, have approved a strong business plan and budget. We are grateful that one of these churches, Church of the Savior, is serving as our fiscal sponsor and hosts our bank account, which our Financial Oversight Committee oversees.
In addition to the generous support of the South Central Conference of the UCC and the churches of the Brazos Association, we need individuals who believe in our mission to support this effort. We’re asking for 300 founders to pledge $12.50 a month or $150 for the year to complete our budget for the fiscal year.
Checks can be MADE OUT to Creative Spirit, UCC and MAILED TO Church of the Savior, UCC at 3402 Little Elm Trail, Cedar Park, Texas 78613.
Ordinarily, the culture of our conservative brothers and sisters is strongly oriented toward giving, especially to missional works such as Creative Spirit. Unfortunately, many have been turned off by churches asking for money, so our moderate-to-liberal churches tend to feel squeemish asking for money. But research proves that if new-church starts cannot ask for initial support, they will not survive.
On average, it takes 5 years for a new church to become completely independent financially. We’re aiming to reach that point sooner by keeping overhead low and focusing most of our efforts on serving the practical needs of our neighbors rather than our own programs. However you choose to support us–with prayers, encouragement, or financial gifts–know that you are a blessing to us and we hope you will be blessed, as well.
